Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MapGrid ("the Service"), a product of MCP Capital LLC ("MCP Capital", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MapGrid provides an interactive mapping platform that aggregates publicly available geographic, environmental, regulatory, and property data across the United States. The Service includes web-based maps, data overlays, search tools, export functionality, and related features.

3. Data Disclaimer

MapGrid is not a substitute for professional due diligence. Data displayed on this platform is sourced from public government agencies including state GIS services, EPA, FEMA, and various county/municipal portals. While we strive for accuracy and timeliness:

  • Data may be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors from source agencies
  • MapGrid does not guarantee the accuracy of any data displayed
  • Environmental risk scores are derived estimates, not professional assessments
  • The Service is not a substitute for a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), title search, professional survey, ALTA survey, or legal opinion
  • Always verify critical information with original source agencies before making decisions

4. Subscription and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Free trials last 14 days. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of charge.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data beyond your tier's export limits
  • Redistribute raw data commercially without permission
  • Misrepresent MapGrid data as authoritative government data
  • Use the Service for insurance underwriting purposes
  • Republish owner names redacted under Daniel's Law (P.L. 2020 c.125)

6. Intellectual Property

The MapGrid platform — its user interface, derived analytics, and proprietary scoring models — is owned by MCP Capital LLC. We claim no ownership of the government data displayed through the Service, but that data is not uniformly public domain: federal data is public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105, and many states publish theirs with no use restrictions, while others license theirs under CC BY 4.0 or CC BY-SA 4.0 — which require attribution, and under a share-alike licence require derivative works to carry the same licence — and some impose further conditions, such as restricting the resale of unmodified data. If you redistribute data obtained through the Service, the originating agency's licence governs. Per-state licence terms are listed on our Sources & Licenses page.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAPGRID SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSSES FROM INVESTMENT DECISIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL LIABILITY, OR PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON DATA DISPLAYED ON THE PLATFORM.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect.
